Farmers Bank sponsors River City Players
RCP is a non-profit performing arts organization. As such, we rely solely on private donations and audience support from the community for 100% of our annual revenue. Without your support, RCP cannot exist. Staging quality productions is an expensive and very time consuming endeavor, and the recession has only compounded the problems. Maintaining a basic facility for meetings, auditions, rehearsals, costume and set storage as well as construction workshop drains most of our limited resources, leaving little for the actual staging of performances. But, we are nothing if not creative, and over the years we have certainly learned to do more with less out of sheer necessity; "The show must go on" remains our mantra despite sometimes considerable obstacles.
Wizard of Oz, 2002
We greatly appreciate our sponsors and all those who regularly attend our events, but, unfortunately, we still struggle to survive from show to show let alone realizing our dream of operating out of an actual theater facility (as stated above, there are no local theaters so we perform wherever they'll have us: gyms, multipurpose rooms, community centers, etc.). Our core membership is very dedicated, but years of "making due" in venues not primarily suited for theater has taken its toll.

So, if you are a lover of the arts (especially the performing arts) and wish to be an active supporter, please remember the River City Players Community Theatre when considering a donation. Your tax deductible contribution will go a long way toward assuring that "the theater" maintains an active presence in our under-served corner of Appalachia. Without your support, RCP cannot exist.
